Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation Natural Treatment

Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation Natural Treatment

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) occurs when skin infections, blisters, sunburns, tans, and other burns become dark with time. Sometimes, spots of acne become very dark, leading to hyperpigmentation. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) marks slowly fade as the skin regenerates itself. But this process takes a lot of time. Sometimes, acne marks, sunburns, and tans do not fade away but become prominent with time and can lead to cancer. They have to be treated either by using chemicals or homemade remedies.

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation can occur in all skin types. This condition is more prominent in areas where sunrays fall for a longer period. People with pigmented skin are commonly found in Asia, Africa, and the Mediterranean region. This hyperpigmentation affects both men and women equally.

Hyperpigmentation Treatment:

In today’s world, many treatments for Post-Inflammatory pigmentation are available. These include laser treatments, chemical peels, physical exfoliation, bleaching creams, skin-lightening creams, and many home remedies.

When skin discoloration is caused by a problem such as acne, the acne must be eliminated before taking PIH treatment. Every time a new pimple develops and resolves, a new area of PIH will develop. So, it is essential to minimize all new outbreaks with appropriate medications. Only then will the treatment of PIH be effective. However, to speed up the treatment of PIH, the following measures should be considered.

Chemical lightening agents:

Many bleaching and skin-lightening creams are available to lighten the dark spots. These creams contain a chemical substance called HydHydroquinonehich, which works by blocking an enzyme responsible for melanin pigment production. Melanin is resprovides to the skin—areas where melanin is produced in excess become dark and pigmented. Hydroquinone can also be found naturally in certain plants. The extract of these plants can be applied to the skin to reduce blemishes.

These products include Mitracarpus scaber extract, Uva ursi (bearberry) extract, mulberry, white mulberry, and paper mulberry. All the above-given products contain arbutin, which is technically called hydHydroquinonee. The extract of these plants can reduce blemishes. Herbal creams containing the above natural products can be bought from Ayurvedic stores. They do not cause any side effects. However, hydroquinone treatment takes at least six months to show results, so this treatment is very slow.

Other creams are available in the market that contain sunscreen, glycolic acid, retinol, and vitamins C and E. These can be applied to dark spots on a regular basis to fade away blemishes.

Hyperpigmentation Natural Home Remedies:

Homemade remedies are considered the best treatment for blemishes as they are cheap and do not cause any side effects.
